Matrox make support changes for RT.X2
Matrox has listened to their users and changed thier support policy regarding the RT.X2 registration procedure. Here's the notes from the press release:
System registration procedure We are very excited to inform you that based on your feedback we have decided to change the RT.X2 support eligibility procedure. All registered RT.X2 owners are now eligible to phone Matrox technical support for a complimentary 6-month period regardless of how their system is configured. System registration via the Matrox Automated System Registration application (ASR) is still required to obtain a System ID to access phone support. However, the ASR will now provide a System ID even if a client's RT.X2 system is not configured with Matrox-validated computers or motherboards.
MAtrox has also added to the RT.X2 system recommendations section of their website. It now features an area for Dealer-validated systems and motherboards as well as a list of Incompatible systems and motherboards.
This is great news from Matrox and should allow many more users to feel comfortable choosing a workstation with the newest features, rather than waiting for Matrox to try and keep up with their validation testing.
